General Welding Supply Company is a family owned and operated business in Denver, Colorado.

Service is what we sell and at a competitive price. We strive to provide the best service in the Denver-Metro Area while providing our customers with quality products, technical expertise, and an established and trusted name on which to rely.

History

Operating since 1947, when GWS was owned by Ethel Smith specializing in welding hard good distribution. Paul Fischer began working for GWS in 1953 as a welding supply salesman and through hard work built a loyal customer base offering honesty and integrity. He later purchased the business in 1971 and it was later purchased by his son Dave Fischer, a graduate of Arizona State University. Paul Fischer was one of the original Independent Welding Distributor Co-Op members and General Welding Supply continues to support the co-operative which allows for volume pricing and buying power keeping General Welding and our customers competitive.

Today, General Welding Supply is looking to introduce the third generation of family operation and ownership as recent graduate of the Monfort College of Business from the University of Northern Colorado, Aaron Fischer joined the sales force at GWS in March 2010.
